Full Description
December 2018. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A small, square or rectilinear enclosure, perhaps of post-medieval date and related to warrening, is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a lidar survey flown in 2015. It is one of a number of similar enclosures recorded across Thetford Warren (NHER 54069), and others are depicted on 19th and 20th-century Ordnance Survey maps. It appears to overlie a narrow bank (recorded as part of NHER 61542), with which it is more-or-less aligned along its northwest side. It may also overlie the ridges (also recorded as part of NHER 61542) which surround it. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is likely that the earthwork still survives.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 4 December 2018.
