Summary

Metal-detecting in 2019 and 2022 recovered Roman and medieval coins; a medieval jetton and a number of other, Early Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include Early Saxon brooches; a Late Saxon Anglo-Scandinavian silver Thor's hammer pendant; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; a medieval strap end, buckle, harness pendant and enamelled mount and a medieval/post-medieval buckle, lead ampulla and lead weight.

Full Description

March 2019. Metal-detecting Survey. [1].
3 Roman coins.
Early Saxon brooches.
Late Saxon Anglo-Scandinavian silver Thor's hammer pendant. The object lacks decoration and likely represents Mjolnir, the hammer of the Germanic deity Thor.
1 medieval jetton, buckles, a strap end and enamelled mount.
Post-medieval lead weight.

The Late Saxon silver pendant was submitted as possible Treasure (Ref: 2018 T225) but subsequently donated to Norwich Castle Museum [2] by all parties and hence disclaimed as Treasure.
