Summary

A series of earthwork bank and ditches, most likely of post medieval date, are seen on visualised lidar data. The large approximately north west – south east bank in the centre of the area, along with the earthworks at TL 7949 9476 and TL 7998 9460, are most likely the remains of a plantation boundary mapped on the Tithe map, First and Second edition Ordnance Survey maps. The banks which abut and run parallel to the central bank may have been earlier boundaries or extensions to the plantation boundary. The curved bank and ditches at TL 7955 9473 may have been part of an enclosure or may have related to forestry. These features most likely date to the post medieval period and are within an area of Second World War training (NHER 63082).
