Summary

An undated bank is visible as a discontinuous earthwork on visualised lidar data. The earthworks possibly relate to the remains of a post medieval road depicted on a 19th century map (NHER 5003). A possible continuation to the northeast is recorded as NHER 63259. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that the earthworks still survive.

Map

April 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An earthwork bank, most likely post medieval in date, can be seen on visualised lidar data (S1). The bank is aligned approximately north east- south west and may have related to a trackway mapped on the Frist and Second Edition Ordnance Survey maps (S2-S3) or possibly a section of former road recorded from historic maps in close proximity (NHER 5003). The bank is situated in between two sections of an earthwork possible boundary bank (NHER 63263).J.Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 2nd April 2019.

August 2020. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The undated bank described above continues to the southwest, albeit as a discontinuous earthwork, visible on visualised lidar data (S1). As suggested above, it is likely that it relates to a post medieval road, depicted on a 19th century map (NHER 5003). The bank continues on the same alignment to the northeast, where it is recorded as NHER 63259. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2015), it is probable that the earthworks still survive.
