Possible Second World War features consisting of a large pit, pits with surrounding mounds, banks and a possible building platform are seen as earthworks on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data (S1-S3). The possible features survive as earthworks on the 1940s aerial photographs (S1-S2) with the majority of the earthworks subsequently levelled, aside from the large pit at TL7626 9365 which is visible as an earthwork on recent (2015) visualised lidar data (S3). The large pit has a bank along its eastern edge with two smaller banks to the west and a possible structure or hard standing to the south. It is unclear what these features may have specifically related to; however these features most likely relate to military training, defence features or possible extraction. The pits with surrounding mounds are located at approximately TL 7608 2936 and may have related to Second World War defensive or training features. Within the extent of area there are vehicle tracks and a section of disused road which may have related to the possible Second World War features. The features are situated in between Cranwich military camp (NHER 25240) approximately 1.2km to the north east, Methwold air field approximately 3km to the south west and possible Second World War anti-gilder features (NHER 63282) approximately 1km to the South-West (NHER 4937).
