Full Description
September-November 2008. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site on proposed route of Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection cable (Trenches 55-56 and 57a).
The three trenches excavated at this location revealed no archaeologically significant features.
The subsoil layer present in all trenches was seen as evidence for medieval open-field agriculture.
Finds were limited to a single sherd of Roman pottery.

2009-2010. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of topsoil stripping and other groundworks associated with installation of the Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection cable.
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits observed.
Metal-detecting recovered medieval objects of unspecified type and several lead cloth seals.
Final report awaited. See assessment report (S2) for further details. This work is also noted in (S3).
