Map

(S1) describes this as a grey brick, detached, two storey house, superficially similar to the listed Elmer Lodge (NHER 48892) next door, which has an 1800 datestone at the back, but the windows of Fairlight Lodge suggest a later date: splayed gauged brick voussoirs over 2/2 pane bisected sashes. Hipped slate roof with slightly oversailing eaves. Square brick front porch, whose moulded cornice includes a white version of the grape and vine pattern elsewhere attributed to the Bawsey brickyard. On the south side a conservatory style bay window with central glazed doors. Side windows of bay have arched heads below the high transoms, above which are small windows with marginal glazing, repeated above the doors. Scrolled brackets between windows under dentil cornice and lead-covered roof.
(S2) dates this house to around 1875. It is visible on (S3).
