Map

(S1) describes this public house as an early 19th century farmhouse. It is two storeys, of red brick woth corner pilasters and a round arch to a central front door. It has a hipped slate roof. A farm house appears at this location on the Gaywood Tithe Map of 1838 (S2) in the ownership of Sir Richard Bagge, suggesting this is the home farm associated with Gaywood Hall (NHER 5555). Nearby Cottage Row (NHER 63470) is said to have housed the workers for this farm. (S3) indicates that this has been a public house since 1983.
