Map

(S1) describes this as a Lacon's brewery make-over of a much older building. A public house known as the White Horse is listed in Gaywood in 1839 according to (S2). (S3) traces this public house back to 1789 via the licence registers. However, according to (S3) the White Horse only appears to have moved to its current location in around 1891. This is incorrect as the Gaywood Tithe map of 1838 lists this as The White Horse Public House, owned by James Everard and occupied by James Boughen (S4).
