January 2004. Building survey.
No. 9 is of three storeys with a 19th or early 20th century shop front on the ground floor, rendered above. According to (S1) No. 9 has a brick wall pre-dating 1780 dividing it from No. 7. The building has been extended to the rear in a very late form of timber framing and brickwork. (S1) suggests this building and its neighbours have their origins in the late 16th or early 17th century but were extensively altered and partly rebuilt in the late 18th or early 19th century.
(S1) states that No. 9 is marked as Tower Tavern on the Ordnance Survey 25" inch first edition (1886) but this label appears to relate to No. 19 to the south.
E. Rose (NLA), 20 January 2004, amended A. Cattermole (King's Lynn UAD), 19 November 2018.
