May 1973. Building survey.
16th century timber-framed house and shop, modified in the 17th century. The street range was rebuilt in brick in the 18th century, three storeys and an attic and this eastern elevation is rendered. The western range is of two storeys, timber-framed with a pantiled roof. The western gable wall is a secondary feature in red brick, probably 18th century, and although now a property boundary it probably truncates this building by an unknown amount. The ground floor is full of modern walls creating a butcher's shop and associated accommodation and the first floor of the rear wing is open and until recently had been used for metal working. No evidence for a jetty was observed.
