Full Description
July 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Two lines of possible Second World War anti landing obstacles can be seen as soilmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The possible anti landing obstacles can be seen as possible low mounds in 1942(S1) with two lines aligned approximately north-south and east-west. The possible mounds have been levelled by 1946 (S2) and can be seen as soilmarks. It is possible that the features may relate to agricultural processes however the form and layout of these features are similar to further possible anti landing obstacles mapped by the project (NHER 63282 and 63283). Due to the quality of the photos obscuring the features and the soil marks appearing very faintly, extent of areas have been used to denote the alignment of the levelled earthworks.
