Summary

This two-storey former Maltmaster's House dates to the mid 19th century and was originally part of the Bidwell's Brewery complex. It is built of gault brick and has a roof of diamond composite slates, a large pediment with a modified Venetian window and a doorcase of Tuscan columns. A pedestrian entrance at the far left of the front elevation leads to a single-storey rear wing with a gabled roof of black-glazed pantiles (The Gables). Other nearby buildings associated with Bidwell's Brewery include a malthouse (NHER 40947) and an adjacent former warehouse (NHER 40948). All three buildings are listed Grade II. Previously recorded under NHER 40948.
