Full Description
Previously recorded under NHER 5477.
1993. Listed Grade II.
War memorial commemorating First World War, with inserts relating to Second War. 1921 by Oswald Milne. Stone. Octagonal plinth with 3 steps. Square pedestal with fielded panels to each side bearing inscriptions. Chamfered edges have panels with names of battles. On pedestal is a square base carrying an octagonal shaft terminating in Latin cross.

This memorial was unveiled on 26 January 1921. The inscription reads:
FRONT FACE: DEATH IN VICTORY/ SACRIFICE/ VALOUR/ HONOUR/ ERECTED BY THE/ CITIZENS OF/ KING'S LYNN/ TO THE MEMORY OF THEIR/ GALLANT COMRADES/ WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1919/ AND IN MEMORY OF ALL THOSE WHO LOST/ THEIR LIVES BY ENEMY ACTION/ DURING THE 1939 - 1945 WAR. OTHER FACES: (Names).
