Summary

World War One memorial constructed from grey granite, in the form of a freestanding, polished, wheel-head cross. This memorial was erected to commemorate ten members of the local community who died during World War One. The memorial was Listed Grade II in March 2018.

Location: The churchyard, Church of St Andrew, Main Road, North Burlingham.
Type: Wheel-head Cross
Description:
The memorial is constructed from grey granite, in the form of a freestanding, polished, wheel-head cross. It is used to commemorate ten members of the local community who died during World War One. It is described as approximately 2m tall, on a tapering plinth standing “on a single block of grey granite, beneath which is a base of stone and brick” (S1). There is an inscription on the front face of the plinth, and names to either side of the plinth, in incised lettering.
