Summary

During or prior to August 2010 a prehistoric stone macehead or hammer with an hour-glass perforation was found somewhere in the vicinity of Hall Farm. These items are not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.

Surface find at unrecorded location in vicinity of Hall Farm, Wacton:
Prehistoric stone hammer or macehead with hour-glass perforation. Made from exotic stone of uncertain origin. Perforation made by pecking rather than drilling. Had probably been used as a hammer as battered and flattened at one end.
These items are not considered closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
