Full Description
April 2020. National Mapping Programme (NMP) Data Clean-Up.
This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the Norfolk Coastal Zone NMP project, but not recorded. This record was written more than 10 years later, without access to the original sources, and therefore the information that can be included is limited, and the interpretation is more tentative than it might be otherwise.
A rectilinear structure was identified on aerial photographs. It was mapped with a rectilinear outline but the precise form of the feature, the material it was made from, and the photographs it was mapped from are not known. It lies less than 200m to the southeast of the edge of Langham Airfield (NHER 1891), and it seems likely that it was an associated Second World War structure. On Google Earth imagery the area is wooded, and it is not clear whether any element of the structure still survives.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk County Council, Historic Environment Service), 30th April 2020.
