Map

May 2020. National Mapping Programme (NMP) Data Clean-Up.
This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the Norfolk Coastal Zone NMP project, but not recorded. This record was written more than 10 years later, without access to the original sources, and therefore the information that can be included is limited, and the interpretation is more tentative than it might be otherwise.
A possible Second World War barbed wire obstruction was identified on aerial photographs. The precise form of the feature and the aerial photographs used to map it are not known, but a dark line – presumably barbed wire or a similar structure – is visible as this location on mid-1940s aerial photographs viewable online (S1). If the interpretation of the feature is correct, the obstruction would have formed part of the Second World War defences along this stretch of coast. The current condition of the site is not known, but it has not been identified on recent Google Earth imagery (S2), and it may have been removed.
