1 August 2020. Metal-detecting Rally.
Area searched by 10 metal-detectorists. No archaeologically significant finds recovered.
E. McDonald (HES), 3 August 2020.
January and May 2021. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The seven trenches excavated revealed little in the way of archaeologically-significant remains, with features limited to two undated ditches. These shallow ditches were both exposed in a trench at the western edge of the site and were aligned north-west to south-east and east-north-east to west-south-west.
No unstratified finds were recovered.
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
P. Watkins (HES), 11 February 2022.
