Map

February 2018. Strip Map and Sample Excavation.
Excavation on route of new water pipeline.
This section of the pipeline route was selected for investigation because it would pass close to a group of previously-recorded cropmark features of possible Late Prehistoric or Roman date (NHER 49465). Despite the apparent archaeological potential of the location, stripping of the pipeline easement revealed no features.
Only an intermittent, weakly-developed subsoil was observed.
No unstratified finds were recovered.
See report (S1) for further details.
The archive associated with this work has been deposited with Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2018.108).
