NHER 64534 (Find Spot record) - Lower Palaeolithic and Middle Palaeolithic finds, Walcott beach (Walcott, poorly located)

In 2019 the Bacton to Walcott Sandscaping Scheme deposited 1.8 million tons of sand dredged from the North Sea sea bed onto the beaches between Bacton Gas Terminal and Walcott. The redeposited sand is known to have contained archaeological material.

The finds detailed below are unstratified and poorly located finds recovered from Walcott beach. They are divided into those recovered before the Sandscaping Scheme and those recovered after.

1 Early Middle Palaeolithic flint levallois core and 2 levallois flakes.
This finds were probably derived from dredged sands depoisted as part of the Beach Nourishment Project.
