Examination of three strips along northern edge of field (Areas C, D and E).
The data collected was dominated by magnetic disturbance caused by a modern service.

Magnetometer survey on route of proposed A47 Blofield to North Burlingham upgrade works.
Examination of large area to south of blocks examined in 2006 (Area BLO3).
No anomalies of obvious archaeological interest were identified at this location.
A large, isolated area of magnetic disturbance in the westernmost third of the site corresponds with a former sand pit shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition Six-inch map (S4).
A number of discrete, low-magnitude anomalies are thought to be the result of changes in the underlying natural geology.
Small, scattered ferrous anomalies are likely to represent modern ferrous debris within the topsoil.

May-July 2020. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of route of proposed A47 Blofield to North Burlingham upgrade works (Trenches 26-39)
The fourteen trenches excavated at this location revealed only a small number of scattered ditches and possible pits. These features were all undated, finds being limited to a single prehistoric flint flake. The ditches were mostly aligned either north-to-south or north-north-east to south-south-west, the notable exceptions being several east-to-west aligned features recorded at the eastern end of the site. One of the north-to-south aligned ditches potentially corresponds with a former field boundary depicted on 19th century maps and the orientations of the other ditches suggest that most (if not all) were probably associated with medieval to post-medieval boundaries.
An early post-medieval buckle was the only unstratified find recovered.
