The memorial has been described with “a sunburst and coronet carved in low relief” where the cross arms intersect, and the carved inscription ‘Victory’ characterised "with the letter ’t’ in the form of a cross rising from the moulded foot of the shaft, like a Calvary”. Furthermore, the shaft is situated on “a pedestal, square on plan, that stands on a single step. The top of the pedestal is moulded forming a shouldered blind arch to each face” (S1). The whole is set within a square enclosure, railed, with corner posts. There are inscriptions to the pedestal carved in low relief.
