Monitoring of excavation of directional drilling pit for Anglian Water pipeline (Test Pit 3).
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits were exposed.
It should though be noted that these works had only limited potential to reveal archaeological remains, primaily due to the relatively small size of the pit and how it was excavated. The initial stripping of topsoil from around the site of the drill pit also left an underlying subsoil in place.
