Summary

A watching brief maintained during the excavation of a directional drilling pit at this location in 2008/2009 recorded a dark peaty deposit that may have been the fill of a ditch.

Monitoring of excavation of directional drilling pit for Anglian Water pipeline (Test Pit 4).
This pit exposed a dark grey silty peat deposit beneath the topsoil that may represent the fill of a ditch. Recording has however severely hampered by a high water table.
