Full Description
April 2014. Trial Trench.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The single trench excavated revealed two undated east-north-east to west-south-west aligned linear features. These were potentially ditches, although it is noted that the nature of their profiles and the presence of a deep subsoil deposit may indicate that they were ploughed out furrows (i.e. the remnants of medieval ridge and furrow earthworks).
No finds were recovered.
See report (S1) for further details.
