Full Description
December 2012. Excavation and Watching Brief.
Archaeological work undertaken prior to and during the installation of new equipment at West Acre Sewerage Treatment Works.
A initial small excavation at the site of a new tank and a subsequent watching brief maintained during the excavation of several service trenches both recorded no archaeologically significant-remains. No finds were recovered.
The degree of truncation observed makes it unlikely that archaeological remains survive anywhere within the area occupied by the treatment works.
See report (S1) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 27 May 2021.#
April-October 2023. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with installation of new microstrainer.
No archaeologically-significant remains were recorded, the two trenches and four test pits excavated all encountering only made-ground deposits beneath the modern topsoil. No finds were recovered.
See report (S2) for further details.
An archive associated with this work has been deposited with Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2023.215).
