Summary

Archaeological work undertaken prior to and during the installation of new equipment at West Acre Sewerage Treatment Works in 2012 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposit. The site had clearly seen significant past truncation and it is therefore unlikely that archaeological remains will survive anywhere within the area occupied by the treatment works. A watching brief maintained during additional groundworks at the site in 2023 also recorded nothing of archaeological interest.
