Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2021 and 2025 recovered Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval/post-medieval ceramic roof tile fragments; a medieval hone stone; undatable iron slag and copper alloy metal-working debris; medieval and post-medieval coins and a number of other, Early Saxon and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an Early Bronze Age flat axehead; a Roman to post-medieval lead possible weight; Late Saxon/medieval lead spindle whorls; medieval buckles, a knife end cap and lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel repair patch and lead weight and post-medieval buttons, a buckle, clog clasp, strap slide, thimbles, mounts and crotal bell.
