Full Description
April 2013. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of proposed development site.
This survey identified no anomalies of potential archaeological interest.
Although numerous discrete anomalies were identified these are thought to represent minor variations in the composition of the soils and underlying geology.
Areas of considerable magnetic disturbance around the margins of the area examined were due to the proximity of modern features and the activity associated with their construction and use.
Numerous isolated dipolar anomalies had probably been caused by ferrous material within the topsoil (most likely modern debris).
See report (S1) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 30 July 2021.
November 2018. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development area in south-east corner of site (at junction of Fir Covert Road and A1067 Fakenham Road).
The eight trenches excavated revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
No finds were recovered.
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
