Full Description
July 2018. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of proposed development site.
This survey identified little of potential archaeological significance.
An east-north-east to west-south-west aligned linear anomaly corresponds with a former field boundary depicted on the Kenninghall tithe map of 1840 (S1).
A perpendicular band of magnetic disturbance was caused by overhead power lines and a nearby amorphous area of magnetic enhancement was potentially associated with the construction of an adjacent pylon.
Discrete dipolar anomalies were probably the result of ferrous material within the topsoil, most likely modern debris.
See report (S2) for further details.
