Map

October 2021. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Possible Second World War Huts can be seen as structures (which have since been removed) on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The former positions of the huts can be seen as cropmarks on the latest 1970s aerial photographs. The features consist of three possible huts in a linear alignment. An area of levelled ground and a possible trackway can be seen in close relation to the huts on the 1946 (S2) aerial photographs. It is possible that these features may have related to Second World War military huts although the function of these features is unclear. The huts are not in close proximity to any further Second World War features and its possible that the huts could relate to modern agricultural features. The huts are seen as structures in 1944 (S1) with the area of levelled ground and trackway seen on the 1946 (S2) aerial photographs. The huts are subsequently removed after 1955 (S3) and the footprints of the huts can be seen as cropmarks on the 1970s aerial photographs (S4).There was a lack of control points during rectification which may have an effect on the locational accuracy of the mapping
