Full Description
October 2021. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a previously recorded (see NHER 36421) possible Neolithic long barrow can be seen on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The feature consists of an elongated oval ditch which may relate to a possible Neolithic long barrow. The possible long barrow is cut by a post medieval boundary recorded on the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map (S3). A possible Bronze Age ring ditch can be seen in close proximity to the south west. A possible Neolithic-Bronze Age trackway (NHER 64275) on a similar alignment to the possible long barrow is also visible to the west.
This feature was originally recorded as part of NHER 36421.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 27 October 2021.
