Map

October 2021. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A section of a possible Iron Age to Roman rectilinear enclosure is seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1). It is also possible that the features could relate to Iron Age to Roman boundary ditch. Possible Neolithic (NHER 64276) and Bronze Age (NHER 64277) features have been recorded in close proximity to the north west and its possible that rectilinear enclosure could be earlier in date. The possible rectilinear enclosure is most likely cut by a post medieval boundary recorded on the Frist Edition Ordnance Survey map (S2). As the post medieval boundary is recorded in good detail on the historic maps, it has not been mapped as part of this project.
