Summary

A small ring ditch of unknown date is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. It is possible that it represents the site of a small Bronze Age round barrow; ring ditches identified a short distance to its south (NHER 18332) have been interpreted in this way. The size of the ring ditch, however, means that it could feasibly represent the site of a prehistoric or early Roman round house instead. In this case it is likely to be associated with the Late Iron Age or Roman field system, enclosures and possible farmstead identified in the surrounding area (NHER 49394).
