Summary

World War One Memorial with World War Two addition, constructed from stone, in the form of a freestanding Latin cross. This memorial was possibly erected around 1920, to commemorate seven parishioners who died in World War One, and latterly one parishioner who died in World War Two. The memorial was Listed Grade II in November 2019.

Location: Roadside, Wymondham Road, Junction with The Street, Wramplingham.
Description:
The memorial is constructed from stone, in the form of a freestanding Latin cross. It is used to commemorate seven parishioners who died in World War One, and latterly one parishioner who died in World War Two. It is described situated “on a tall shaft which tapers in square section from an hexagonal plinth atop a single-stepped hexagonal base” (S1). There are inscriptions to the plinth in incised lettering that are in poor condition (S4). The World War One dates are to the north-east face, with names listed below and to the other faces.
