Summary

A watching brief maintained during the stripping of topsoil and modern overburden from this site in 2016 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. It should though be noted that natural geological deposits were only sporadically exposed so it is possible that remains present were obscured by the surviving areas of subsoil. Unfortunately the subsequent excavation of footing trenches was not subject to archaeological monitoring.
