Summary

These brick wall and flint walls have 16th-century origins but are now almost completely of late 18th-century date with 19th-century repairs. The two wrought iron gates are by Boulton & Paul of Norwich and date to the 19th century.

Listing Description excerpt for 'precinct walls to north-west of Abbey Church and attached gates':
"Precinct walls. 16th-century origins but now almost completely late 18th century with 19th-century repairs. Brick and flint laid in courses below coping bricks. Brick strip buttresses to inside (towards church) repeated on outside as flush flint piers. This length of wall runs west out of Sunday School, returning south along Becketswell Road to main gates opposite north porch of church. Gates by Boulton & Paul of Norwich: 19th century, wrought-iron."

Listing Description excerpt for 'precinct walls to north-east of Abbey Church and attached gate':
"Precinct walls. 16th-century origins, rebuilt intermittently since. Flint with some brick and ashlar coping. At north-east they terminate at a 19th-century wrought iron gate by Boulton & Paul of Norwich: round stiles. Chapel Street length of wall terminates to west at Sunday School. Limestone coping has wide fillet."
