Summary

A systematic field survey at this location in 2022 a notable assemblage of Roman finds, comprising nearly 150 pottery sherds, roof tile fragments and a lava quern. It is suggested this was the site of a Roman building. Other finds recovered included Neolithic/Bronze Age flint flakes and medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds. No metal objects were found.

Despite surveying the site for three hours under good conditions no recordable metal finds were recovered.
The finds suggest the site of a possible Roman building.
