Summary

Trial trenching at this site in 2016 revealed no archaeologically-signfiicant features or deposits. A single prehistoric worked flint and a fragment of Roman tegula were recovered from the topsoil.

April 2016. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The two trenches excavated revealed no archaeologically-significant remains.
The only features noted were two probable planting holes of recent date and two field drains.
A reasonably thick, undisturbed subsoil layer was present in both trenches.
Unstratified finds were limited to a prehistoric worked flint and a fragment of Roman tegula.
