September 2013. Excavation.
Excavation of footing trenches for new boathouse.
These trenches revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
A thick reddish brown sandy clay deposit lay immediately beneath the former topsoil, below which a brownish yellow sandy gravel was exposed. The reddish brown clay layer was observed during subsequent work to the south of this site and interpreted as a probable glacial till (see NHER 65934).
No finds were recovered.
