Map

September 2011. Geophysical Survey.
Detailed magnetometer survey of proposed development site.
This survey identified no anomalies of obvious archaeological significance.
An east-north-east to west-south-west aligned linear anomaly towards the northern end of the site coincides with a former field boundary depicted on the Dickleburgh tithe map of 1843 (S1).
A number of scattered, discrete areas of magnetic enhancement are all thought to have been the result of variations in the underlying geology.
Areas of magnetic disturbance around the margins of the site and various isolated dipolar anomalies were probably caused by ferrous material in the plough soil, most likely modern debris.
See report (S2) for further details.
Previously recorded under NHER 56797.
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 18 August 2022.
