Summary

Metal-detecting in 2020 and 2024 recovered a glass vessel fragment of probable Roman date; Roman, Late Saxon and medieval coins and a number of other, Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a probable Middle Bronze Age dirk or rapier blade fragment; a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead fragment; a possible Bronze Age axehead fragment; a Late Iron Age/Roman tankard fragment and unidentified copper alloy object; a Late Iron Age to Early Saxon unidentified copper alloy object; Roman brooches and a copper alloy pin; a potentially Roman copper alloy figurine; a Roman to post-medieval lead weight; a Late Saxon strap end; medieval buckles, mounts, a strap loop and lead ampulla; a medieval/post-medieval bar mount, spoon, book mount and chafing dish fragment; a post-medieval hooked tag, sword-belt fitting, lead tag or seal and lead power-holder cap and post-medieval/modern lead whistles.
