Map

February-June 2022. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site on proposed route of Hornsea Project Three offshore wind farm onshore cable (P3TT21; Trenches 1209‐1218).
The 10 trenches excavated at this location revealed several ditches and a pit, all of which were undated. The ditches lay at the western end of the site and were all aligned roughly north-west to south-east. The pit was a fairly small sub-circular feature at the eastern end of the site with a charcoal-flecked fill, a sample from which produced a small amount of hammerscale from ironworking.
No unstratified finds were recovered.
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
P. Watkins (HES), 16 June 2026.
