Summary

A geophysical survey of this site in 2021/2022 recorded little of potential archaeological interest. Subsequent limited trial trenching had similarly negative results.

Environmental Impact Assessment of the potential impacts of the proposed Hornsea Project Three offshore wind farm on the historic environment. This study incorporated the results of an initial walkover survey and the first phases of geophysical survey.

Magnetometer survey of site on proposed route of Hornsea Project Three offshore wind farm onshore cable (Area 63).
This survey recorded little of potential archaeological interest. Although several fragmentary linear anomalies were identified these are quite irregular and most likely natural in origin.

February-June 2022. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site on proposed route of Hornsea Project Three offshore wind farm onshore cable (P2TT82; Trenches 731 and 732).
The two trenches excavated at this location recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
Unstratified finds were limited to a single fragment of undiagnostic medieval/post-medieval ceramic building material.
