Map

May 2021. Aerial Investigation and Mapping.
Examination of available aerial imagery for proposed route of Anglian Water Bexwell to Bury St Edmunds pipeline.
A dark ring-ditch cropmark is visible at this location and Ordnance Survey photographs taken in 1963 (site RS-E2B-29). This is interpreted as a drainage ditch associated with a stack stand (a small mound for the drying and storage of crops). It is recorded as potentially medieval, although if indeed a stack stand a post-medieval date is perhaps more likely.
See report (S1) for further details.
