Summary

A geophysical survey of this site in 2020/2021 revealed no potentially archaeologically-significant anomalies. Subsequent trial trenching in 2021 had similarly negative results.

Magnetometer survey of site on proposed route of Anglian Water Bexwell to Bury St Edmunds pipeline (Area 109).
This survey of the northern half of the site revealed no potentially archaeologically-significant responses.
Although a number of discrete anomalies were recorded these are all thought to be of natural origin.
Scattered dipolar anomalies are likely to have been caused by ferrous material on or close to the surface (most likely modern debris).

Evaluation of site on proposed route of Anglian Water Bexwell to Bury St Edmunds pipeline (Trenches 74-78).
The five trenches excavated at this location revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
No finds were recovered.
