Summary

The possible remnants of a series of ploughed-out medieval to post-medieval boundary banks are visible as slight earthworks on visualised lidar data of this location. A ditch associated with one of these possible banks is visible as a cropmark on recent aerial imagery.

Examination of available aerial imagery and lidar data for proposed route of Anglian Water Bexwell to Bury St Edmunds pipeline.
A possible remnants of a series of ploughed-out medieval to post-medieval boundary banks are visible as slight earthworks on visualised lidar data of this location (S1). These include a fairly extensive north-north-east to south-south-west aligned feature that can be traced between TL 6375 9834 and TL 6360 9785 and several adjacent parallel and perpendicular features. This group also includes a north-to-south aligned possible ploughed-out boundary bank running between TL 6343 9800 and TL 6343 9781. Towards its southern edge the extensive north-north-east to south-south-west aligned bank is flanked by a long ditch visible as a cropmark on recent Google Earth imagery (S2).
