Full Description
June 2017. Watching Brief.
Maintained during installation of new water pipeline.
The narrow pipe trench excavated at this location (Trench 1) revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
An initial metal-detector survey and a scan of the spoil from the excavated trench recovered only fragments of late 20th-century material. None of the objects recovered were potentially associated with the use of the World War Two airfield (NHER 9235).
See report (S1) for further details.
