Full Description
June 2016. Watching Brief.
Maintained during the construction of a new residential dwelling.
Two ditches were exposed at the southern end of the site, where a subsoil layer underlying the topsoil was fully removed. Neither produced any finds, although it is noted that their fills were similar to the topsoil, suggesting they were most likely of relatively recent date.
Unstratified finds were limited to three worked flints of probable Late Neolithic/Bronze Age date, late post-medieval pottery sherds and late post-medieval/early modern pantile fragments.
See report (S1) for further details.
