Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2021 and 2022 recovered a scattered medieval coin hoard comprised of 69 short-cross coins. These had most likely been lost or deposited during the mid 1240s.

Scattered within vicinity of [2]:
Medieval hoard of 69 short-cross coins. The earliest coins were minted in 1180-1185 and the latest in 1236-1242 - giving an earliest possible deposition date of 1236. The coins were most likely lost or deposited during the mid 1240s.

This coin hoard was declared Treasure at inquest (Ref: 2021 T993) and subsequently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2025.69).
